Do You Know These Letter Sounds?

Have you seen puppets being sent home?

Continue to use these characters to help your child identify letters and sounds in the alphabet.

Be sure to:
  • discuss capital and lowercase letters
  • point to the words
  • retell the poem using the puppet
  • identify the sound that the puppet, and repetitive words make

Our favorite song that is incorporated with movement is Alphardy by Dr. Jean
Visit youtube to sing along with the video!

Researchers!

Have you heard the exciting news?

Our Second and Third graders are going to be doing research using the iPad mini's and computers in our learning lab.  We brainstormed ideas of a topic we would like to learn more about.  We brainstormed a variety of ideas from people, places, and things.  We came up with things like President Barack Obama, how to design our own room, and bunnies!

Ms. Rappaport decided to learn all about platypuses.  Stay tuned to find out more information on our topics and how we will be presenting them.

Some students selected books, songs, movies, posters, and brochures.  I can't wait to learn more about these topics!

Stay tuned...

Thanks To Our Generous Donors

This Friday we will be mailing out our thank you cards to our generous donors that helped to get us two more iPad minis.  Now we have FOUR and we are having so much fun learning through games.  Next week we are going to begin doing research projects using the iPad mini's to meet our writing goals.

We are so grateful for the compassion that so many people from around New York have shown our learning lab.

What should our next Donor's Choose project be?

What would you like to see in the learning lab?

In Summer

We have been using graphic organizers to write in a clear, detailed manner what we are looking forward to doing over the summer!  Tomorrow it will be time to publish and turn our writing into another class book
